Michael has lived full time in Uganda for more than 9 years. He began his career as a journalist and first fell in love with Uganda and motorcycle taxis during internships at Uganda's Daily Monitor newspaper and Independent magazine. Michael holds a BA from Stanford and an MPhil from Oxford. Michael is a Fulbright and Marshall Scholar, Echoing Green Global Fellow and proud alumnus of the Unreasonable Institute and Global Social Benefit Incubator (GSBI).
Marisa Susan Fee
Chief Operating Officer
Marisa has developed a passion for startups and growing companies throughout her career. At United Technologies, in the U.S., most of her roles dealt with creating new processes or organizations. In Ghana, working for Groupe Nduom, she started GN Electronics, an electronics assembly company which received ISO 9001 certification. She has degrees from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from New York University. She is the proud mother of two kids.
Chief Financial Officer
Stephen has held various senior positions in Chase Bank (K) leading Strategy, Analytics, Tax, Fundraising and Finance. His last role in Chase was Head of Finance and Strategy. He was previously Group Tax Manager with the Equity Bank Group and worked as a Senior Consultant in Ernst & Young. Stephen was also a Lecturer in Strathmore University. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Economics degree, a Masters in Economics, and is a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Chief Commercial Officer
Paul Chaggar has experience building businesses and brand equity in the world's leading automotive, industrials, and professional services sectors, having founded Obsidian Commodities & Consulting, and previously working with Simba Corporation, Hoggestt Bowers Executive Search, Volkswagen Group, Baker & McKenzie, Linklaters, and PwC. Paul has a Bachelor of Engineering & Commerce (Joint Honors) from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Warwick, UK.

Sylvia is a dynamic senior HR practitioner with over 15 years’ of being a strategic partner, an employee champion and change agent across sectors of Education, Manufacturing and NGO. She strongly believes a positive thinking environment and a fully engaged work force drive business visions. She has a B.Sc (Educ) and M.Sc. HRM both from Makerere University. Sylvia is a proud farmer, passionate about seeing people succeed in life and deeply loves her family
Head of IT,System and Innovations
Over a period of 12 years, Patrick has taken on different roles in development and maturation of Information Systems in organizations across different sectors namely; Health, Agriculture, Education, Supply Chain Management etc. In addition to experience in Software development, Project Management, Strategic planning, Team leadership, Patrick has a passion for Data Driven environments and using technology as an impetus to business growth. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Makerere University Kampala
Rodney was a co-founder of Uganda Microfinance Limited, one of the largest MFIs in East Africa before it was sold to Equity Bank. Mr. Schuster later joined Equity Bank’s executive team, and since 2010, he has been a technical consultant to several MFIs and SME lenders including his current role with Tugende. Mr. Schuster holds an MA in International Development from Brandeis University and a BA in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley.

Formerly a journalist and Aga Khan media fellow in Uganda, Matt is now a Civil litigator in Toronto. Though not back in Uganda as often as he would like, Matt still plays an active role in advising on Tugende’s strategy and promoting the brand in North America.
Director & Advisor
Aaron helps with the company’s fundraising efforts in the U.S. along with providing guidance in ongoing strategic and operational activities. He has a background as a successful social entrepreneur as a co-founder of Khunu along with experience leading some of the pioneering work at the Clinton Foundation to significantly reduce the price and expand the global access of HIV/AIDS medicines.
Director & Advisor
David Issroff is principal of City Hall Capital, LLC, a New York based boutique investment firm with deep experience investing in multiple asset classes globally. Together with his wife Lisa, David founded the Issroff Family Foundation, whose mission is to provide support for youth in Southern & Eastern Africa, Israel, and New York City. David serves on the boards of various private portfolio investment companies and several non-profit organizations, including Echoing Green, the US Advisory Council of the African Leadership Academy, and Tugende.
